ABOUT US (Well, Me)

Hey there! I'm Trevor Smith, the solo dev behind Lorebound Interactive. In my past life (pre-Covid) I had over 20 years of sales experience. The pandemic changed that, and I decided to go back to school to study for a career in what had always been a passion of mine ever since my SNES days as a kid, video games. So, with the support of my wonderful wife and daughter, enrolled in Full Sail University's Game Development program. I'm set to graduate with honors in September 2024, and absolutely love developing games.

Right now, Lorebound Interactive is just getting off the ground, but you can check out some of our past and current projects below. I also do game design consultation and freelance work; feel free to contact me. I'm also open to more long-term projects, so if you think you have a project I might be a good fit for, let me know!

PCDG for UE5

Lightweight Procedural 3D Dungeon Generation Tool

As part of my work on Reign of the Necromancer, I designed and developed a procedural dungeon generation system from the ground up that took advantage of Unreal Engine's level instancing technology to procedurally stitch together pre-designed rooms into cohesive levels.

I am now retooling that system to be make it as lightweight and portable as possible, to allow other devs to use and modify it as they see fit for use in their own projects.

​

I plan to release it on the Unreal Engine Marketplace in the near future.

Lorebound

This is my personal passion project.

Caught in a city during a system apocalypse (a popular trope in many animes and LitRPG), can you use your newfound system-granted powers to level up and survive in a world with portals pouring out monsters from myth and legend? Whatever you decide to do, you better do it quick, because as the mana levels rise, more and more powerful beings will be able to make our planet their home.

Reign of the Necromancer

As a part of Ante Up Studios, I am working on Reign of the Necromancer, a first-person fantasy rogue-like dungeon crawler. Currently in alpha, this procedural dungeon crawler with an upgrade system reminiscent of games like "Death Must Die" is already a ton of sword-swinging, spell-slinging fun!

On this Unreal Engine 5 project I took on a more systems based role, designing and engineering the dungeon generation system, the manager for combat encounters, as well as the vast majority of the individual rooms. I also designed all the boss encounters and helped script them, in conjunction with the enemy AI lead Nicholas Barger.

Apocalypse Scrapper

As a scrapper whose job it is to gather tech and materials from locations on dead planets, fight, scrap, and upgrade your way through a skyscraper filled with murderous machines and mutated fauna. Can you get to the top and evac with the loot?

During the development of this Unity title, I was responsible for the initial game idea and systems design, the design and development of the scrapping system, design of the shop and upgrade system, the design and creation of the first level, voice acting (I'm the voice the player hears over the radio), and event scripting. I was also the project manager, coordinating tasks, managing the team,  and making sure the Jira stayed up to date.
